ABOUT THE ROLE
To support our ongoing growth, we are currently seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to join our Maxwell Underground Whynot Team. Reporting to the Mine Manager | Whynot, we are ideally looking for an experienced maintenance leader with demonstrated problem-solving skills and proven experience managing maintenance functions in an underground coal mining environment.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance outcomes across the Whynot operation.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies, schedules, and systems to maximise plant and equipment availability and reliability.
- Manage maintenance budgets, spares, and contractor resources to achieve operational and financial targets.
- Ensure compliance with the Mine Inspection Plan and all statutory maintenance and inspection requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, and Supply teams to plan and prioritise maintenance activities.
- Demonstrate a strong safety focus and actively promote site HS&E requirements amongst the wider team.
- Support the development of a positive, high-performing working culture.
ABOUT YOU
- Trade Qualification (Electrical or Mechanical) with relevant post-trade or engineering qualifications highly regarded.
- Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role within an underground coal mining environment, ideally bord and pillar.
- Working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience managing maintenance budgets, contractors, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and strong communication skills.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills, including excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of Pulse Maintenance System (or similar) is highly desirable.
