The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site, with production projected of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life, the underground mine targets high quality coal, with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE
To support our ongoing growth, we currently have an opportunity for a CHPP Maintenance Planner to join our Team. The successful applicants will be passionate about mining and have a proven track record in an underground coal mining environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and optimize weekly and long-term maintenance plans for the CHPP.
- Schedule and plan major shutdowns and overhauls, ensuring all resources, materials, and permits are in place.
- Maintain the sites maintenance system with accurate job plans, work orders, and maintenance records.
- Liaise with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of spare parts and consumables.
- Track and report on key maintenance KPIs (e.g., schedule compliance)
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
- Ensure compliance with site safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Work with stakeholders from the CHPP team to create a positive working culture.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role you will:
- Strong understanding of CHPP operations and coal processing equipment (e.g., crushers, screens, conveyors, wash plants).
- Knowledge of Pulse Maintenance System (or similar) is highly desirable
- Trade qualification or engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, or related field) is highly desirable. A high level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft software packages
Experience in a planning role within a CHPP or heavy industrial/mining environment.
