The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site, with production projected of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life, the underground mine targets high quality coal, with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking a Training Coordinator to join our team and contribute to our ongoing growth. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive Order 34-compliant training program, covering all aspects of training and competency management.
Additionally, the successful candidate will collaborate with the Management Team to design and deliver end-to-end training processes, support the onboarding experience, and assist in implementing effective training systems.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Establish and oversee the implementation of the training competency management scheme.
- Develop internal training packages to industry standards.
- Facilitate the delivery of training and assessments in classroom, field based and online environments.
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance on training, competency and authorisation processes.
- Coach and mentor workplace trainer and assessors.
- Coordinate training needs analysis for all employees.
- Collate and analyse training data to maintain compliance with skills matrix and training needs analysis and prepare monthly performance reports.
- Assist in the development of a safety culture that supports the Maxwell Underground’s values.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this role, the applicant will have:
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment – TAE 40116 or newer.
- Prior experience in an operational or training role in an underground mining environment would be advantageous.
- Experience in the administration of Workforce Management System, particularly role and competency management and reporting.
- Experience in developing training packages and assessment material.
- Thorough understanding of NSW statutory obligations relevant to training and competency.
- Contractor management skills
- Proficiency in the application of Microsoft Excel and Word software
- Sound report writing skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and strong communication skills.
- Excellence time management and prioritisation skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
