The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced operations with production planned of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life, the underground mine targets high quality coal, with the majority being metallurgical coal.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Maxwell Underground Mine are currently seeking energetic and skilled Bord & Pillar Superintendent to join our growing Team. Reporting to the Underground Mine Manager, the Bord and Pillar Superintendent will primarily be accountable for detailed planning and execution associated with production using Bord and Pillar mining methods in the Whynot seam of the Maxwell Underground mine.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Lead the Whynot seam Bord and Pillar operation to meet or exceed budgeted performance requirements in a safe and cost-effective manner
- Ensure mine wide activities are carried out safely and in compliance with the mine Safety Management System.
- Management of contractors and personnel undertaking bord and pillar operations
- Development and Implementation of process maps and planning tools to support safe and systematic mining
- Drive underground standards to establish and maintain a world class mining operation.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this role, the applicant will possess:
- NSW Undermanager Certificate of Competency and Practicing Certificate.
- Experience in Place Change development & pillar extraction
- Demonstrated success in leadership roles.
- Practical experience in high productivity roadway development and longwall operations.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
