The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced construction with production planned of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life, the underground mine targets high quality coal, with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Maxwell Underground Mine are now seeking an energetic and skilled Outbye Coordinator to join our Operations Team. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Outbye Coordinator will manage the outbye services contract (Woodlands Hill & Whynot Seams), the installation, maintenance, and operation of services such as ventilation, conveyors, water, compressed air, pumping, power supply, and roadway maintenance (Woodlands Hill Seam). The Outbye Coordinator will ensure compliance with relevant legislation, company policies, and safety management systems.

The ideal candidate will be someone with a can-do attitude, and hands-on approach, who is prepared to effectively contribute to a lean team environment.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Key procurement of mine infrastructure including:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of Operational Standards, including undertaking regular auditing to verify compliance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitating the weekly planning process to coordinate workgroups and deliver a detailed plan aligned to the 12-week plan, and budget & monthly forecast processes.
  • Providing guidance and leadership to the team, including tracking and reporting on plan versus actual performance in safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Fostering a high-performance culture through leadership, including appropriate communication, coaching, delegating, and performance management.
  • Leading contractors and personnel undertaking outbye operations.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an underground coal mining environment.
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Underground Coal Mining Operations.
  • Sound knowledge of longwall mining operations and outbye infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of NSW mining legislation and safety regulations.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
