The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced construction with production planned of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life, the underground mine targets high quality coal, with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Due to the ongoing progress of the Maxwell Underground Mine we are now seeking an energetic and skilled Outbye Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering Team. Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer, this is a key role in our site-based engineering team and will provide support as the technical lead for Outbye equipment and infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will be someone with a can-do attitude, and hands-on approach, who is prepared to effectively contribute to a lean team environment.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Key procurement of mine infrastructure including:
- Conveyor system
- Mine ventilation fans
- Diesel Equipment
- Underground infrastructure
- Pumping equipment
- Compressed air system equipment
- Leading role in site readiness for operations.
- Development and implementation of maintenance strategies.
- Manage the electrical safety and compliance requirements of the outbye equipment.
- Technical lead (electrical) for the outbye equipment and infrastructure.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability through continuous improvement.
- Manage and coordinate the outbye electrical resources to ensure that the outbye equipment is installed, commissioned, operated, maintained, and decommissioned to achieve operational targets.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Electrical engineering qualification (or currently undertaking, accompanied by an Electrical Trade Certificate)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in underground coal mines
- Detailed knowledge of longwall technical and operational practices
- Strong technical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
