The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site, with planned production of up to 8 million tonnes of per annum. With approvals in place out to 2046, the mine targets high quality coal with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Maxwell Underground Mine are currently seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our Team. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the primary function of the Senior Payroll Officer is to ensure accurate and timely payment of wages to employees, adhering to relevant legislative requirements associated with Long Service Leave, Workers Compensation, Payroll Tax and record management.  

Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Interacting with employees to address payroll-related inquiries.
  • Collaborating with HR, finance, and other departments to resolve payroll issues.
  • Conducting regular audits to identify and correct discrepancies.
  • Collecting and verifying timekeeping information.
  • Collating weekly, and monthly, Reports for the Management Team to provide insights and summaries related to payroll data.

 

ABOUT YOU:

To be successful, you will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

 

  • Prior experience in a similar position
  • Sound working knowledge of accounting practices and legislative requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Payroll Systems
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional organisation and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A working knowledge of Pulse Mining Systems, and/or Payroll experience within the Coal industry, would be advantageous.
