The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site, with planned production of up to 8 million tonnes of per annum. With approvals in place, out to 2046, the mine targets high quality coal with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a Production Manager to join our growing Team. Reporting to the Mine Manager, the Production Manager will use their skills and knowledge to deliver the systems of work and resources required to meet the production objectives, whilst supporting the safe and efficient operation of the mine.

We are ideally looking for an experienced Production Manager, seeking to proactively identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business-critical success factors, streamlining production and leading team members to achieve production targets.  Proven leadership experience in and Underground team environment is essential to the success of this role.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

If successful, you will:

    • Play a key role in the onboarding and training of the new underground workforce including Undermanager’s, Deputies, Operators, etc.
    • Manage oversight of the longwall, development and outbye areas.
    • Develop and implement the operating systems.
    • Manage performance targets, and plans, aligned to Maxwell Underground Mine’s site production requirements.
    • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders to support the delivery of production.
    • Proactively drive performance across the underground operation
    • Ensure operational employees in Production are competent and motivated to perform their roles efficiently and effectively.
    • Inspire the workforce, as you review and improve process efficiency, with a focus on maintaining consistent quality systems and superior performance practices. 

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

    • A NSW Undermanager Certificate of Competency and Practicing Certificate and/or Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant Engineering field.
    • Sound knowledge of underground mining processes, including practical knowledge of mining equipment
    • Sound planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
    • Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
    • Demonstrated ability to meet production objectives.
    • Excellence time management and prioritisation skills
